Mack and Belle Bingham
Mack David Bingham was born August 18, 1861 in Milam County, Texas. He was the sixth child and fourth son born to James S. Bingham and Lavica Ann Dyches Bingham. He married Benson Bellzora (Belle) Wilson March 18, 1886 in Williamson County, TX at the age of 24. She was the second child born to Nathaniel H. Wilson and Elizabeth Sweazea. She was born September 20, 1871 in Shelby County, TX. Mack passed away January 26, 1942 at the age of 79 and was buried in Calf Creek Cemetery in Calf Creek, McCulloch County, TX. Belle lived until August 11, 1960 and was also buried in Calf Creek at the age of 91.
A story told by Mack’s grandson, Robert Owen Bingham, relates that at a family gathering, several family members were knocked down by the force of a bolt of lightning. Mack Bingham was knocked unconscious. It was said that his hair turned white after that incident; and that he would only eat with wooden utensils from then on.
Mack and Belle had 12 children – six boys and six girls:
