“Joseph Belt(Northcott)was the youngest of the family, named for my father’s brother-in-law. His first marriage was with Louisa EMMONS, daughter of St. Clair and Alice EMMONS. Several children followed, but she became insane, was taken to a hospital and there died. After some years he married again, this time to Nannie VIZE, daughter of Rev. Mansfield VIZE. He emigrated to Indiana and there he died, under 50 years of age, after long suffering with an incurable disease. He was a man of good mind and a loving heart, a devoted Christian. His memory is blessed. Two of his daughters were in business in Crawfordsville, Indiana a few years ago…..”
