John N. Fish was born abt 1820 in Louisiana. He was the son of Joseph Martin Fish and Nancy Ann Dyches. He married Martha Whitmire in Williamson County, TX. She was born abt 1829 in Mississippi. He server as a second corporal in Company A, Second Texas Regiment commanded by Brig. Gen. H. P. Hale for the confederacy and later as a private in Company B, First Frontier District commanded by Capt. J. M. Hawks. She died abt 1878 and he died abt 1880 in Texas.
