I have just found a marriage license issued to William Moore and Priscilla Gibbs issued September 3 1818 in Marengo County AL. I think this will prove to be our William Moore and Priscilla Roe (?middle name – their daughter Miranda’s middle name is Roe). Their daughter Sarah died in Texas – her death certificate has her mother’s maiden name as Gibbs. I’m going with it.

Wow! How did you ever catch that one? I assume you must this is the one that was married to a Mcgee.
I need to gather my facts before I write (insert foot). It was their daughter Rachel (first married to Giles Gandy then to Nicolas Burge) that I got the Gibbs for Priscilla’s maiden name. She died in 1892 in San Jacinto County. Buried at the Evergreen Cemetery there in San Jacinto County. Her tombstone has her mother’s maiden name as Gibbs.
