His WWI draft registration indicates that he was married at the time; and one relative confirms that he had a “red-headed son” but no record of either his wife or son has yet been found. Since he died in 1918 at the age of 33, it is likely that the marriage occurred between 1905 and 1917 (when he registered for the draft).

Ruthie and “Aunt Bill”
Ruthie and Pat had no children. Her health deteriorated greatly years after his death and she eventually had to have her legs amputated. She was in a wheel chair in a rest home for many years, but her mind stayed as sharp as a tack until the very end. Aunt Ruthie was a fiesty woman; and she along with her sisters Willie (Bill), and Mary ( Madie) were the subject of some very colorful stories.

Notes for MARY FRANCES BLOUNT:
She was known as Mae, but Madie was the nickname most people used. It has been reported that she died in Yachats, Oregon. Charles Thompson is listed in the SSDI there, but nothing on her yet. Unable to lacate her in the census since 1910. Names of children came from nieces who knew them. Aunt Madie had many stories to tell that I hope to be able to one day find someone to repeat. I do remember her relating the viewing of the bodies of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. After they were killed, the bodies were placed in a nearby barn for a time and some of the local townspeople were evidently allowed to view the spectacle.
