James Koen Blount was born 1795 in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. He was a documented figure in the politics of Washington County, Alabama being a justice of peace, sheriff, tax assessor. He was also a founding member of the masons there. He married three times. First to Miss Moore (probably Sarah), children Elizabeth Brunette b 3/2/1826, Euphenia b about 1829, Felix E. b about 1832, Euphelia b about 1835, Eurene b about 1838, James M b about 1837. Second to Elizabeth Knight July 10, 1852; children Joseph DeForest b about 1858, Mary Olivia b about 1860, William Samuel b about 1861, son died in childhood. Third to Mary Richardson on August 8, 1864; children Ponce Moren b about 1866, Alpha Omega b about 1869, Eugene S. b after 1870, Pierre Estelle b after 1873.
