Benjamin Franklin Dyches was born March 17, 1835 in Newton County, TX. He was the son of Joseph Josiah Dyches and Elizabeth Lewis. He died in 1866, possibly in a drowning incident while on a cattle drive. His body was never found. He married Permelia Ann Cargill on March 01, 1860 in Williamson County, TX. She was born about 1844 in Louisiana.
